How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

According to the coursework brief I had an understanding that I would have to effectively combine my ancillary texts and my main product so that they cooperated to enhance their synergistic effect. My main project, being our music video, is part of sub-genre, electro-pop. I also reflected this style in my digipack and poster. 

In both my music video and my digipak and poster I used the same location and the same kind of shots in order to combine the two. The combination was effective because as a collective they were conventional of the electro-pop genre. The conventions could be seen in the costume as well as location and the filters that were used during editing of both the music video and ancillary texts.

Music Video

FIlming Diary

On the 27th we went back to the arcade in bexleyheath in order to reshoot some lip sinking shots as well as getting some more location shots.
We decided to get these shot after receiving feedback as well as watching the video back together as a group too.
When watching the video we realised there was a couple of missing shots as well as lip syncing shots that were out of time. We also had some location shots that were over repeated.

To improve the video we used the extra location shots so it isn't so repetitive, but we also used the idea of ground hog day which meant when they did repeat it was more like the day being repeated. We came up with the idea that every time the shot is repeated it is faster to show the distortion of the repeated day.

Filming Diary

After receiving feedback on our music video we then collectively decided to reshoot some lip syncing shots on a white screen so we are able to edit in a background.

For these shots I filmed them with kelly sitting at different angles and using various camera angles in order to vary the shots.
