Filming Diary

Today we filmed at another of our main locations: Bexleyheath's Tenpin. At this location there is an arcade. We used the arcade for quite a few lip syncing shots which is one of the reasons we used the location. Keeping in line with Goodwin's theory when we analysed the lyrics of the song we found various links between the lyrics and the arcade which is when we made the decision to use this location. The arcade also had lot's of neon lights which will assist us when making the music video flow as it connects visually with our previous location: God's Own Junkyard.

After the tenpin location we went to an unused car park in which we would film some more shots. One problem that occured when filming at this second location was that we were soon approached by somebody who worked for the council who told us that we wasn't to be in the car park however it was resolved quickly and he allowed us to finish filming.

Filming Diary

On Saturday 20th January we went to one of our main locations, 'Gods Own Junkyard', in London. This location is important as a lot of footage as well as digipak shots where set in this location. When we got to God's Own Junkyard we realised we couldn't film with a camera however we was allowed to use phones to film so we did this instead.
We chose God's Own Junkyard as one of our locations as it is known for its display of neon lights. This is good for our music video as neon lights is an integral part of its aesthetic.

Filming Diary

Today, as a group we headed to one of our locations: Southbank. At southbank we got various various location shots for our music video as well as photographs that we could potentially use for our digipak.
When we was at southbank we used a purple plastic filter on the camera in order to get the purple toned light that we wanted. This along with the low key lighting due to the later hours of the day really helped to achieve that nighlife look which is conventional of electro pop.
We filmed numerous different shots of the lights along the side of the Thames as well as a shots of a carousel and then a shot of, our artist, Kelly actually filmed on the carousel.
We also got some footage in the christmas market where of the lights and the buildings there as well as the fires.

Our artist:

  • Costume was made of up of dark tones and a simple style in order to emphasise the scenery.
  • She also wore a beret which is her trademark. (This will be worn throughout the music video).
